Wetlands

Even though we are located adjacent to a semi-urban area, our surrounding wetlands attract a vast array of bird species throughout the year.

American White Pelicans, Double-crested Cormorants, Pied-billed Grebes, Tree Swallows and Yellow-headed Blackbirds are just a few of the dozens of bird species that nest, feed and roost at our wetlands. Muskrats, Western Painted Turtles, and Plains Garter Snakes are all common residents that visitors are likely to see while visiting.
