FortisAlberta Flying Field

Throughout the day we exercise our birds at our flying field. Red-tailed hawks and Bald Eagles are flown each day (weather permitting) to keep them in excellent physical condition. 

FortisAlberta is committed to protecting migratory birds and raptors while keeping your lights on. A group of demonstration power poles situated beside our flying field illustrates different contact mitigation devices that are deployed around the province to reduce the risk of birds coming into contact with energized wires and equipment. These devices prevent real-world electrical outages and fires while protecting countless birds from electrocution injuries and death.
